AC Yule has a long established history from 1946 to the present day. Some of the key events in our history are described below.

1946
Glass processing, bevelling and mirror manufacturing business started by Alexander Yule in premises in Ferry Road, Old Torry near Aberdeen.

1952
Business moved to premises in Union Glen, Aberdeen.
|

1960
Business moved to premises in Justice Mill Lane, Aberdeen
|
|
1967
Craigshaw Road Factory was established on West Tullos Industrial Estate in Aberdeen, the Justice Mill Lane operations was retained as a city centre showroom with a small glass cutting/processing and specialist workshop. Branch Office was established in Elgin.

1976
New Elgin factory opened in Pinefield Industrial Estate.

1982
Additional factory premises opened at Abbotswell Road, West Tullos Industrial Estate.

1986
Small factory unit opened for aluminium products.
|
|
1987
Aluminium Products Division move to larger premises in Craigshaw Road.
|
|
1988
Over £500,000 invested in Scotland's large Glass Toughening Plant to produce AC Yule TempaGLAS.

1989
PVCu and Joinery Products Division relocated to larger factory with three times manufacturing space. A specialist Conservatory Unit created in new factory.

1990
Glasgow Factory Opened Hillington Industrail Estate.
|
|
1991
All manufacturing processes and accounting systems computerised.
|
|
1992
Showroom was refurbished to become the All Product Showroom. New building acquired in Craigshaw Road increasing office accommodation for Head Office.

1994
Manufacturing for both Central Belt and Aberdeen, consolidated in Aberdeen and the Transport Fleet was upgraded for support. Glasgow manufacturing base was then closed, leaving Sales Team and Glazing Team in place.

1995
Restructure in June of Aberdeen Divisions to form two Main divisions, Glass & Glazing and Window & Door supported by the All Product Showroom.

1996
Launch of Fire Resistant Glass manufactured by Company 'TempaFLAM'.
|
|
1997
Acquisition of Seal-Rite, based in Falkirk to increase and enhance opportunities in both the Central Belt and in the Aluminium market in particular.

1998
Investment undertaken in new IT system, installed throughout the group.
|
|
1998
Window and Door Division restructures to become Architectural and Commercial Division.
|
|
1998
Decision taken to withdraw form the Domestic Installation Market to allow more focus within trade markets.

1999
Livingston facility moves to larger premises with an investment of £1.2m. AC Yule's second toughening plant is installed with the only 3mm capability in Scotland. Sealed unit production line, automatic glass cutting facilities and processing equipment complete the investment.

1999
Architectural Aluminium fabrication facility is opened in Sunderland to Serve the North East of England market.

1999
Acquisition of Tayside Windows, based in Forfar, to enhance the company's presence in the Tayside and Angus areas.

2000
Reactor Automatic Door Division established at Pallion Industrial Estate, Sunderland.

2002
Aquired the business and customer base of Fullex Architectural Aluminium, based in Clydebank, Glasgow.

2003
Purchased state of the art CNC machines for the Glass and Aluminium Fabrication plants in Aberdeen.

2004
Recieved the Royal Warrant of Appointment as suppliers of glass products and services to Her Majesty the Queen.

2004
Invested in new HELGA cutting table with automatic loading system for the Glass plant, Aberdeen.
|

2005
Invested in new LISEC KSR arrising machine for the Glass plant, Aberdeen.
