In addition to the KeepHEAT Sealed Units offered by AC Yule, units can be Silicone Sealed. The double glazed units are hermetically sealed with a two part compound. As the silicone compound is UV stable the units are designed for use in situations where the edge is likely to be exposed to sunlight. Typical examples would include roof glazing, curtain walling, 'frameless systems' and structural assemblies.

Conventional sealed double glazing units using two part polysulphide, are suitable in most circumstances but are not UV stable. Continued exposure of the edge will lead to the breakdown of the hermetic seal and 'fogging' of the inner glass surfaces in the cavity on the unit. Using Silicone Sealed Units in these circumstances avoids this unnecessary complications.
