TempaCLAD is a tempered, painted glass that can be manufactured from 6mm or 10mm float glass. The panels are usually manufactured into double glazed units, but can be supplied in single format. The glass can also be insulated or non-insulated, the insulated panels having a foil or metal tray backing. TempaCLAD is painted with a strong ceramic paint (available in a variety of colours), which helps to increase the durability of the panel. Inconsistencies in the paint coat cannot be avoided due to the nature of the painting process, therefore, the panels must be attached against a solid background such as a brick wall to avoid these inconsistencies from being visible.
TempaCLAD has been developed for use in non-vision areas and curtain walling applications, it is manufactured in accordance with BS safety requirements and provides a very tough, aesthetically pleasing glass which is up to 5 times stronger than annealed glass of the same thickness.
