Inverness have a brand new Safeway superstore to boast about, located in the town's Eastgate Centre. The eye catching, green glass structure is a prime example of commercial glazing, displaying AC Yule's expertise and superior capabilities in this area. AC Yule & Son Ltd are one of Scotland's largest glass suppliers and have many years experience carrying out work on projects such as this.
AC Yule were awarded the GBP 170,000 contract by Morrison Construction, Inverness and worked closely alongside Halliday Fraser and Munro architects to complete the supermarket which opened earlier this year.
To achieve the prominent glass features of the building AC Yule used Kawneer 1200 dry glaze curtain walling and Kawneer 451-T thermally broken framing. The bolted green glass, consistent throughout the building, added a unique feature to the overall appearance. The company also supplied and fitted the trolley shelters and the store's automatic doors.
Bryan Yule, Managing Director commented on the project completion
We are very pleased with the end result of this project. Our experience and high quality materials are ideally suited to projects such as this and hopefully, these qualities will be noticed by contractors in the industry, leading to further contract awards of this type.
AC Yule's Head Office is based in Aberdeen with divisions in Elgin, Livingston and Sunderland.
