We are currently in the process of developing the 14001 Environmental standards at Glass and Glazing in Aberdeen. So far we have used an environmental student to identify our energy and waste costs and develop policies to help us achieve
the standards.
The standards are about us using less resources, creating less wastage and recycling where possible. By following simple measures we can achieve a green culture and work towards continuous improvements.
It is now economical and ethical to develop our processes and rocedures to help save valuable resources and be seen to be an environmentally friendly business.
Currently Glass and Glazing are reviewing their processes before starting to audit and introduce groups to tackle key areas such as wastage and energy use within the division. The standards are monitored in the same way as Quality by using
an outside Auditor such as BSI who will visit us regularly and test our system.
As always you have a role to play. A key part of the standards is good housekeeping and that means cleaning as you go. The standards will be rolled out at all divisions next year and your contribution will make a real difference.
