Recognising the ever growing need for greater accuracy, consistency and variety for
processed glass products, AC Yule has recently taken delivery of the latest state-of-the-art
CNC (computer numerically controlled) multi task glass processing work centre.
The machine is the first in the UK of a new generation of machines built by world renowned
Italian glass machinery specialists, Intermac.
Alex Gray, General Manager, Glass & Glazing Division commented, "We evaluated several
companies to establish which machine was best suited to our requirements and did not opt
for the cheapest machine."
The machine has 5 axis and can carry out milling, drilling, grinding, bevelling and polishing
of both rectangular and shaped pieces of glass. The working table was another important
consideration in the selection of the machine. The bed size of the work centre is 4.000m x
2.100m which perfectly mirrors the size of the Division's two tempering furnaces (2.085m x
4.200m). This means that even the largest pieces of processed glass produced on the work
centre can then be tempered.
