The Malmaison Hotel in Aberdeen, formely the Queen's Hotel situated in Queens Road in the heart of the city, is the latest addition to the Malmaison portfolio. It is due to open in late 2008/ early 2009 and will bring the Malmaison trademark of chic style and flair to the city centre.

The Queens Hotel was one of Aberdeen's most famous hotels but, in recent times, it had become evident that major renovation and investment were required to bring it into the modern idiom.

The old hotel has been partially demolished and extended and with refurbishments totalling £7.5 million providing 60 bedrooms, it will see the Malmaison Aberdeen emerge as a stylish addition to Aberdeen's hotel scene.

AC Yule's involvement has been extensive as the main glazing, window, curtainwall, rainscreen contractor to the extension.

Main features include polished granite clad rainscreen to west, east and south facing walls. All opening windows, all elevations. Feature glazing including curved double glazed corner to 2nd floor penthouse suites. Glass links including structurally glazed bolted west entrance. Main entrance: arch topped glass assemblies: Internal frameless glazing screens, glass balustrades. Curtain wall feature screens including non-vision tempaclad insulated panels. Large silicon bonded structurally glazed sloped curtain wall rooflights.

The hotel will feature Malmaison trademarks with contemporary furnishings of chic style and a wealth of creative comforts. AC Yule are pleased to be associated with this icon of the hotel industry.
